Senator Roy Ashburn admitted to a radio station on Monday that he’s gay. Wow, as if we didn’t already know after he got picked up for DUI coming out of a gay bar. Thanks for stating the obvious.

A former KKK leader, Tom Metzger is going to run for Congress in Indiana. I don’t know how well a politician could pull off the whole ghost look.

Far fetched? Probably. But Klan politicians in Indiana wouldn’t be anything new. In the 1920s, the Klan held majorities in both houses of the Indiana state legislature. Ed Jackson, a Klan member, was even elected governor in 1925. http://trueslant.com/austinconsidine/2010/03/09/former-kkk-leader-to-run-for-congress-in-indiana/

Thinkprogress reports on the Oklahoma GOP being mad about divorced people.

Republican members proposed three pieces of legislation imposing new regulations on marriage and divorce in Oklahoma. Two of the measures were defeated, but another — requiring counseling for those planning to wed, and therapy sessions for couples considering divorce — is awaiting action.

The issue has produced sharp clashes among conservative colleagues who normally find themselves in agreement. The debates have featured charges of hypocrisy and of betraying Republican principles against government intrusion into private lives. [...]

“How far do I want government to come into my home and your home about private personal matters?” asked Rep. Leslie Osborn, a Republican from Tuttle, in a debate. She referred to state government as a “huge monster.” http://thinkprogress.org/2010/03/08/oklahoma-divorce/

Sound the alarm, Rush Limbaugh is going to run away to Costa Rica, if healthcare is passed. Can we hold him to this  — please?

An anti tax rally is being held in Georgia today, with CPAC speakers such as Grover Norquist. What some may not know, is that it’s sponsoured by Philip Morris.

One wordpress blogger laments something I just received in the mail too. A letter notifying me of something I already knew and you’d have to be dead or deaf not to know — that the census  will be coming later on.

MediaMatters reports on some of the crazy speculative commentary coming from the right-wing blogosphere regarding John Bedell’s potential motives at the Pentagon shooting. Someone needs to learn how to use ‘the facebook’.

I’m almost speechless between this exchange on FOX’s Greta Van Susteren and Republican Charlie Crist, regarding his challenger’s back waxing habits…..

During a lengthy interview with Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren last night, Florida Senate candidate Charlie Crist accused his GOP rival Marco Rubio of possibly waxing his back — and charging the state of Florida for it. It was a bizarre exchange as Van Susteren does a double-take at Crist’s example of Rubio not being a real fiscal conservative: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/09/crist-rubio-may-wax-his-b_n_491388.html
